The history of the school, today known as the Complex of Artistic Craft Schools, dates back to the 19th century, and the art of woodcarving existed in the Jelenia Góra region since the 18th century. From 1902, in the newly built school building in Cieplice, Germans taught woodcarving, based on traditional motifs, mainly including sacral sculpture. On November 7, 1902, the ceremonial opening of the woodcarving school took place. In April 1922, Prof. dell’Antonio, a first-rate artist, who had been employed at our school since 1904, as a teacher of figure woodcarving and a sculptor, became the school’s director.
Currently, the Complex of Artistic Craft Schools consists of: Art High School and Technical School (Wood Technology, IT Technician, Photography and Multimedia Technician, Fashion Industry Technician, Stylist Technician, Advertising Technician).
